Hilmar Unified School District Board of Trustees is proud to announce the selection of Mr. Tony Lomeli as the District’s new Superintendent of Schools for the 2026-2027 school year.

Tony brings more than 20 years of experience in TK-12 and college education. Tony’s leadership has been shaped by teamwork, discipline and a deep commitment to student success. His career includes roles as Senior Director of Student Support Services, Assistant Principal and Principal at both elementary and high school levels, as well as work in Alternative Education programs. His service spans Patterson, Fresno, and most recently Modesto City School District, where he focused on strong instruction and equitable systems of support.

Born and raised in Patterson, Tony brings a personal connection to the Central Valley and a deep understanding of the communities he serves. As Superintendent, he is excited to work collaboratively with students, staff, the community, and the Board of Trustees to ensure student well-being, academic excellence, and college-and-career readiness for all students.

He and his wife of 22 years are proud parents of two children, one currently attending the University of California, Los Angeles and the other finishing high school. Together they share a strong belief in public education and look forward to contributing to the Hilmar and Stevinson communities.

Please welcome Mr. Lomeli. We look forward to the positive impact his leadership will have on our students, staff, and community.
